The Master of Science in Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering (TEE) lasts 2 years referred to as M1 and M2. This programme is research oriented.

Both M1 and M2 are organized on our Brest campus.

Objectives 

The goal of this M.Sc degree is to provide a postgraduate research programme focusing on the physical and processing aspects of communication technologies. It offers a broad choice of topics including design of communication systems, complex integrated circuits targeting communications, presentation of optical communications, or mobile digital communications. This Master opens the way towards PhD studies in internationally recognized research laboratories.

Following Bridging Semester, five options are on offer:

  • Signal and Image Processing
  • Microelectronics (Microtechnologies, Architectures, Networks, Communication Systems)
  • Physics, Photonics and Optics for Telecommunications
  • Materials and Microwave Devices for Communication Systems
  • Signal and Circuit Design

Competences acquired

Thanks to Telecom Bretagne's expertise in Telecommunication Engineering and Research postgraduate education, high-level competences are acquired not only in technical fields but also in teamworking, written and oral communication, innovation and project management.

French language is also one of the new competences that helps work in France and other French-speaking countries or for French companies abroad.

R&D Engineer in the field of specialization: Hardware/IC design, Microwaves/RF systems, Optical communication systems, Signal and/or image processing etc.

In case of a PhD following this MSc programme: Researcher and/or Faculty member.

Course structure and content

Each semester is worth 30 ECTS credit (European Credit Transfer System).

M1

1st Sem.

Bridging Semester in English

M1

2nd Sem.



from February
to June

Pre-specialization in French

2 courses from 3 domains related to the M2 specialization and a project.
This semester is similar to the semester 4 of the engineering degree curriculum. One course has to be chosen as a  "Major" (168 hours, 16 credits) and the other as a "Minor" (84 hours, 8 credits). The project is worth 6 credits.
