Patrick Lassudrie-Duchesne received his doctorate on gas and plasma physics from the University of Orsay, France in 1973. He served as a researcher on antennas and electromagnetic radiation at the University of Rennes. He then joined the France Telecom Research Center (now Orange Labs) in Lannion, France and became Head of the Research Department devoted to ionospheric propagation.
He joined Telecom Bretagne's Microwaves Department in 2000. His current interests concern terrestrial and Earth-space radio propagation and related applications, e.g. Global Navigation Satellite Service (GNSS) and terrestrial radio communication systems in the low frequency bands.
