Dr. Didier Hervé, Master's program Coordinator

Didier Herve Didier Hervé was born in France in 1962. He received his BSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Brest, France, in 1984. He worked at France Telecom as a switching exchange technical manager in Rueil-Malmaison (Paris) from 1986 to 1988. In 1989, he joined the teaching staff of the Microwave Department at Telecom Bretagne.

He received his MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Brest, in 1992 and 1996 respectively. His doctoral studies involved research on dynamic Bragg gratings in iron doped indium phosphide and photorefractive waveguide structures in III-V compounds. This work was carried out jointly with France Telecom R&D Centre (now Orange Labs) in Lannion. He received his Research supervisor accreditation (Habilitation à diriger des recherches, HDR) from the University of Brest in 2004. 

From October 1997 to April 1998, he was a visiting scholar in the Fiber Optics & Photonics Laboratory at The University of Sydney, Australia, where he worked on a project related to optical processing of microwave signals. From 1999 to 2003, his research activities were focused on the Microwave Photonics field and particularly on hybrid fiber-wireless distribution systems.

Since he was promoted Associate Professor in 1998 he has also been working with the International Office at Telecom Bretagne for student exchange programmes, mainly with Australia and Spain. From 2001 to 2006, he was involved in the European Socrates-Erasmus international teaching assignment programme and gave a course at the Graduate School of Telecommunication Engineering of Bilbao, University of the Basque Country, Spain.

From March to June 2003, he was a visiting researcher in the Fiber-Radio Group at the Graduate School of Telecommunication Engineering of Valencia, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain.

In 2006, he joined the Telecom Bretagne's International Office and was appointed Head of this department in 2008. In 2010 he took charge of the Master of Science program coordination.
