Let the music play! For its first edition on April 21, students and staff at Télécom Bretagne gathered in the main hall for a brand new classical music event. On a truly open stage, the “Lunchtime Concerts” pay tribute to different styles and repertoires of music.
For the very first concert, April 21, the group played and sang Klezmer music, where a small choir, clarinet, oboe, piano, trombone, violin and cello mingled to the tunes of “Dona, Dona”, “One night in the Garden of Eden,” “Oyfn pripetshik” … fifty students, colleagues and guests enjoyed this relaxing, friendly and cultural interlude during their lunch break. Following this success, a quartet (violin, viola, cello and piano) from the Conservatory of Music in Brest came to interpret a piece of music by Mahler. The concert continued after the Classical music club organizer opened it up to other performers, and we heard a flute / cello duet, a guitar solo and a ‘cello solo.
The next meeting is set for June 21 for the music festival at Brest Technopôle. Two mini-concerts are planned for after the summer break; the themes are Andalusian music and film music.
