Guy Roussel was elected President of Fondation Telecom, June 22. He had been vice president since 2008 and headed the strategic orientation committee of the foundation that supports the development of the Institut Telecom.
Commitment to telecommunications
Former president of Ericsson France, Guy Roussel, throughout his career in the telecommunications industry, including Motorola, headed many projects for public institutions, Europe and the MEDEF. He is the author of several reports including “Making France a leader in the digital economy” commissioned by the MEDEF.
He currently leads the Strategic committee of the SICT sector chaired by the Minister for Industry. He is also a member of the Advisory Commission for electronic communications, honorary president of the SITC Alliance and an associate member of CGIET *. “I will strive to capitalize on the action initiated by Didier Lombard to make Fondation Telecom a forum for the exchange and pooling of expertise between all players in the digital domain – industrialists, academics, telecom graduates- to give Institut Telecom engineering schools the means to hold their own in global competition ” announced the new president of the foundation.
Renewal
Guy Roussel succeeds Didier Lombard, who leaves the executive committee of the foundation following his departure from Orange. Jean-Philippe Vanot, executive vice president of Orange is the new representative of the operator and vice-president of the foundation. The group is completed by Richard Lalande, executive vice president of SFR, who has been re-elected treasurer of the foundation..
