In finishing second tie (4th after tiebreaker), the chess club players defended the school colors well at the Ernst & Young Grandes Ecoles Trophy at d’Aix-les-Bains on 26 and 27 March.

It was a tight game between Télécom-Bretagne and Ecole Normale Superieure Ulm at the Ernst & Young Grandes Ecoles Trophy.
After a few games against the different teams entered for the chess tournament, Telecom Bretagne was selected to face Almira Skripchenko (French Champion and European Champion 2001) in a simultaneous exhibition at the Theatre du Casino Grand Cercle at Aix-Les-Bains. Given the high level of participants, the challenge seemed difficult. Finally, Almina lost after 3 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats. Quite proud of themselves, Télécom-Bretagne’s chess club managed to beat the master!

The simultaneous game with Almira Skripchenko was held at the Casino Grand Circle. The audience used headphones to receive the commentaries of the chess Grand Master Miso Cebalo and the Master Jean-Baptiste Mullon.
Preview of the final ranking: 1: Ecole Normale Superieure Ulm, 2nd tie: University of Paris 1, Ecole Centrale Marseille, Telecom Bretagne, 5th: Telecom SudParis.
