As part of their engineering course, students visited four companies on 6 April and 18 May. These were Lagasse Technologies, Autocruise, Vigisat and CLS.
Autocruise is a company specializing in electronic and technological innovation applied to automobiles. It develops microwave antennas, reverse radar systems, radar distance control … These technological developments greatly simplify the lives of motorists. Students observed the operation of a vehicle equipped with onboard radar (hidden behind the bumper).
Lagasse Technologies specializes in RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), radio-communications and secure wireless transmissions. During the visit, students attended a trial of smart baggage transportation with monitoring points (visual, temperature and brightness points). This demonstration enabled them to discover how a company with the right monitoring device can help in the fight against the theft of luxury goods.
Vigisat is a reception station of satellite images used to monitor and observe the ocean. The data collected is used by researchers, environmental organizations, and the world of offshore as well as maritime defense. Vigisat receives processes, analyzes and distributes real-time radar images of high resolution.
The visit ended with CLS (Collected Localization Satellite), a leading company in collecting environmental data from tracking and ocean observation satellites. Topics such as oil spills from unscrupulous ships, monitoring the sea state and the detection of suspicious objects were discussed during the visit.
