The IEEE, during a November session of the Administrative Council, raised Michel Ney to the rank of Fellow of IEEE, the highest recognition for its members. He was rewarded for his fruitful contributions to the field of electromagnetic modeling. Michel Ney is a professor in the Microwaves Department and is head of the “Modeling of devices and systems” team at Labsticc. He is the fourth Fellow of IEEE at Télécom Bretagne after Claude Berrou, Christian Roux and René Garello.

Only eight people in France have obtained the prestigious title of Fellow of IEEE, an award reserved for scientists whose work is of an exceptional level in the fields of interest of the society. In another Breton establishment, Rennes1 University, Éric-René Pottier was also nominated.
The IEEE(Institut of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) is the world leader of professional associations dedicated to the advancement of technology. With 385,000 members in 160 countries, the association has expertise in a very wide field : aerospace systems, computer science, telecommunications, biomedical engineering, electrical energy, electronics.
