From 20th September to 29th October, Télécom Bretagne is delighted to welcome to the Brest campus, an exhibition of recent paintings by Jean-Pierre Hue.
The artist
Jean-Pierre Hue was born in 1949 in Lyon, he now lives and works in Brest. In 2002 Jean-Pierre Hue, stopped working on canvas and moved to other smooth and transparent supports such as glass, plexiglass and vinyl. He employs a very ancient techniqueof painting on glass and adapted it to the production of paintings on plexiglass. These two processes answer his need for greater depth of field in his perspective and a multiplication of planes to add a plural dimension to his work.
“The artist is a visionary. His subject, the city of tomorrow, is portrayed in a series of works in which he gives us a view of outlandish technological cities, chaotic jumbles of skyscrapers, tangled mazes of streets, crossroads of desires and futures for man. Man, who seems to be missing from this virtual world but who is present in the form of words or sounds as in mangas. Such work, both structured and bizarre draws from an abstract grammar and links if need be to a neo-futuristic trend. ”
Art Point, January 2009.
Please note that the artist has moved from a two to a three-dimensional format with pieces placed on the ground
