28th June to 28 July, from 9am to 5pm, at l’IFSIC in Rennes

The SISCom Bretagne Research Cluster in Information and Communication Sciences for new telecommunications services is pleased to announce the first edition of the summer school on Networks and Telecommunications with a specific focus on the Internet of the Future. Given its academic and industrial role, the school is also sponsored by the European Network of Excellence “EuroNF” through its Industry Club (SEA 7.1).

The Internet is present in everyday life in domains such as education, health, defence, commerce, travel, entertainment… However, it is generally agreed that it was not designed for such a high level of usage, and there is a need for new and simpler but more powerful constructs to allow the network to behave better in terms of security, mobility, quality of service, energy consumption, utilisation and interoperation of new technologies.

  • The school aims to clarify the vision on the future networks, through the views of academic and industrial experts. We are pleased to propose keynote talks from the following high-qualified speakers

    - John DAY – University of Boston,

  • Andrew ODLYZKO – University of Minnesota.

In addition, there will be presentations covering many areas related to the future of networking in general and of the Internet in particular. The programme includes visits to industry R&D labs located in the Rennes Atalante area.
