Codes for watching videos on brochures

On June 3rd, as part of its annual colloquium, the Association for Heads of Communication in Institutions of Higher Education (Arces) gave out its trophies for best communications.
The direction of Télécom Bretagne received first prize in the category « digital communication » for the use of its 2D (data matrix) codes in its brochures.
These codes, which are only a few square centimetres in size and are printed on the brochures, make it possible to access videos linked to the subject of the brochure, with a simple click on a smartphone.
Using this technique, it is possible to enrich the content printed on the brochure, without requiring switching to a computer. The reader simply has to aim his or her smartphone at the code on the page, and the video shows up instantaneously.
Services related to these codes, used by Télécom Bretagne, were developed by a company in its incubator, namely Bookbeo.
